If you want to sell a Haas milling machine or CNC lathe, you’ll get an indicative value. Haas is one of the most widely deployed American CNC machine brands among small and mid-sized manufacturers and correspondingly liquid on the used market. We buy VF, UMC, ST, and DS series machines wherever they’re located, as long as condition and hours are in line with the market. Related pages: Machining centers, CNC lathes.
VF series — vertical 3-axis machining centers
| Model | Table (mm) | X travel | Asking prices (Oct. 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| VF-2 | 914 x 356 | 762 mm | €14,000 - 36,400 (3 listings, build years 2003–2015) |
| VF-3 | 1,016 x 508 | 762 mm | no reliable range |
| VF-4 | 1,270 x 508 | 1,016 mm | no reliable range |
| VF-5 | 1,270 x 660 | 1,016 mm | no reliable range |
The VF-2 range is based on three listings on gebrauchtmaschinen.de and Exapro (as of October 2026; asking prices, not selling prices). For the larger models, not enough listings state a price.
UMC series — accessible 5-axis
- UMC-500: the most compact. For small moldmaking and precision components.
- UMC-750: one of the best-selling machines worldwide in its category. We have no reliable public price range.
- UMC-1000: large format for structural parts.
ST series — production lathes
- ST-10 / ST-15: precision turning for small parts.
- ST-20 / ST-25: the most widely deployed range. 65 mm bar capacity.
- ST-30 / ST-35: larger turning diameter. For parts with a bigger diameter.
- DS-30: dual-spindle for automated production.
Factors with the biggest influence on price
NGC vs. classic control: the biggest single factor after hours. NGC raises the price by roughly 45 to 55% over the classic control.
TSC (through-spindle coolant): essential for aerospace aluminum and high-speed steels. Raises the base price by 8 to 15%.
ATC condition: the automatic tool changer is the most sensitive mechanical component. A precisely operating ATC is a good indicator of correct maintenance.
Spindle hours: under 8,000 h is good condition. Between 8,000-15,000 h is normal in production use. Above that, an overhaul may be needed.
Why Haas is so liquid
Haas has a broad installed base among small and mid-sized manufacturers — that means a wide, active pool of buyers and short marketing times, even for older build years. We market through our network in more than 15 countries across three continents, which lets us make reliable offers even for older classic-control machines, where a purely local buyer would already be hesitant.
Common reasons to sell
- Workshop upgrade. The old Haas gets traded in against a new machine. We assess the outgoing machine in parallel with the new machine’s delivery time — see Workshop upgrade and trade-in.
- Plant closure or relocation. Entire machine fleets with several Haas units, often combined with other brands — see Plant closure and Plant relocation.
- Reducing capacity. Individual machines become available as workload declines — see Idle machine capacity.
- Insolvency. Our purchase process is designed for insolvency proceedings: payment before pickup and full documentation for the insolvency estate. See Insolvency and machinery liquidation.
Selling process
- Data + photos: model, build year, control, hours, and general condition.
- Initial assessment: no commission on a direct purchase.
- Payment before pickup: we organise the logistics; whether dismantling and transport costs are included is stated upfront in the offer.
