Sell your Haas VF: one of the most widely used milling machines in the world

VF-2, VF-3, VF-4 — Haas’s VF series is the global volume model among vertical machining centers. Thousands stand in job shops, training centers, and prototype workshops around the world. For sellers, that ubiquity means maximum liquidity: demand for used VFs is constant and marketing times are short.

Asking prices and value factors (as of October 2026)

VF-3 / VF-4—no reliable range

Source: listings on gebrauchtmaschinen.de and Exapro, as of October 2026; VAT treatment differs by listing. These are asking prices, not achieved sale prices. For the VF-3 and VF-4, not enough listings state a price. Control, hours, spindle variant and accessories determine the value. More on our methodology: What is my CNC machine worth?

What determines the price of your VF

  • Control generation: NGC (from around 2016) versus the classic Haas control — the clearest price factor in the series.
  • Spindle variant: SS models (Super Speed, 12,000 rpm) and inline direct-drive spindles are specifically sought after.
  • 4th/5th axis: An HRT rotary indexer or a TR trunnion table significantly widens the pool of buyers.
  • Hours and maintenance: Haas buyers are price-conscious but condition-sensitive — a clean maintenance history pays off.
  • Tool changer and options: Side-mount changer, chip conveyor, programmable coolant — every option counts.

Typical buyers of a VF

The VF series goes to job shops, training workshops, and prototype builders of every size — the huge installed base means practically every shop already knows how to run a Haas VF. How the sale works

The process matches our Haas buying program: send data and photos, get a first assessment, receive an offer, get paid before pickup. VF machines are compact and quick to disassemble, which keeps the rest of the process straightforward. Details: How it works.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is my Haas VF-2 worth today?

For used VF-2 machines built 2003–2015, current listings show asking prices of €14,000 to €36,400 (three listings, as of October 2026; asking prices are not sale prices). For the VF-3 and VF-4 we have no reliable public price range, because not enough listings state a price. The control (NGC or the older Haas control), hours and 4th/5th-axis readiness determine the value. First assessment after submitting your data.

Is it still worth selling an older VF?

Yes. The VF series is one of the most widely deployed CNC milling machine lines in the world — there is practically always a buyer. Even a VF-2 from the early 2010s with the classic Haas control finds takers, from entry-level job shops to training workshops. With Haas, speed of execution is what matters, and that's exactly what we offer.

What does the NGC control add on resale?

The Next Generation Control (from around 2016) noticeably lifts the value of a VF compared to an otherwise identical machine with the classic control: more modern operation, network capability, current software. Buyers specifically ask for it — the premium runs about 15–25% depending on model.

Do you also buy VFs with accessories like a rotary indexer or workholding?

Yes. A 4th-axis rotary table (HRT), vises, zero-point clamping systems, and toolholders are included in the valuation. Production-ready packages sell faster and for more — just include the accessories in your submission.
