Selling a Nicolás Correa bed mill with ram: NORMA, NORMA MG and XPERTA

At Nicolás Correa, ‘ram’ is not a model series but a design type: the manufacturer builds bed mills with a side ram (in German, querbeweglicher Frässchieber) under the names XPERTA, NORMA and NORMA MG. A series named ‘RAM’ is not in the current range. This page explains which machines hide behind that search term and what matters when selling.

The manufacturer describes the design like this: fixed bed, L-shaped ram guideway, a mechanical compensation system for ram sag, and universal and orthogonal heads with patented rotation in 0.02° steps. As fields of application for its milling machine range, Nicolás Correa names, among others, aerospace, rail technology, wind energy and power-generation technology.

Prices: no blanket range

For XPERTA, NORMA and NORMA MG we have no reliable public price range. On Resale, werktuigen.de and Maschinensucher (as of October 2026), XPERTA and NORMA are only listed with ‘price on request’; for the NORMA MG we found no listings there; the few listings with a price concern clearly smaller, older Correa machines of the A, CF and F series. We therefore do not quote a figure. Value is set by the factors below; you get the first assessment. The general methodology: What is my CNC machine worth?

What determines your machine’s value

  • Series and size: XPERTA, NORMA, NORMA MG and NORMA L differ in travels, table load and drive (see table).
  • X travel: the longer the X axis, the wider the range of workpieces and the more specialized the buyer pool.
  • Control: type and generation (for example Heidenhain or Siemens) determine how broad the buyer pool is.
  • Head equipment: universal and orthogonal heads as well as additional heads are a value factor of their own.
  • Additional equipment: for example the integrated rotary table of the NORMA MG, tool changer, through-spindle coolant or chip conveyor.
  • Condition and documentation: ram guideway and geometry, spindle condition, maintenance records and a current measurement protocol.
  • Build year and duty profile: single-shift operation with gap-free maintenance is valued differently from multi-shift series production.

Older Correa bed mills, fields of application and buyers

Older fixed-bed milling machines of the A and CF series (for example A 25/25 or CF 22/25) are also listed on used-machine marketplaces. Send us the nameplate and we will place and value your machine.

Bed mills with a ram machine large workpieces in a single setup. As fields of application for its milling machine range, the manufacturer names aerospace, automotive, rail technology, wind energy, power-generation technology, defense, oil and gas, capital goods and general machining. For a buyer, what decides is whether size, travels and head equipment fit their range of parts. Compare all Nicolás Correa series: Nicolás Correa brand hub.

How the sale works

The process matches our Nicolás Correa acquisition process: nameplate, control, X travel and photos of the heads are enough for the first assessment. Once all details are in, the offer usually follows 24–48 hours on working days after we have all the details; in urgent cases an on-site visit is possible, usually within 48–72 hours on working days. Payment is made before pickup; we organise disassembly and transport. For single machines it usually takes 7–15 working days from first contact to pickup. Details: How it works.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is my Nicolás Correa bed mill with ram worth today?

For these series we have no reliable public price range: on the common used-machine marketplaces, XPERTA and NORMA are only listed with ‘price on request’. Value is set by series and size, X travel, build year, control, head equipment, condition of the ram guideway and geometry, and the maintenance documentation.

Does Nicolás Correa have a ‘RAM’ series?

No, not in the manufacturer's current range. ‘Ram’ describes the design type: Nicolás Correa builds bed mills with a side ram (in German, querbeweglicher Frässchieber) under the names XPERTA, NORMA and NORMA MG; the moving-column NORMA L also has a side ram. Send us the nameplate details and we will place your machine.

What role does the control play in the sale?

According to the manufacturer, the current NORMA is supplied with a Heidenhain or Siemens control. Control type and generation affect how broad the buyer pool is. Whether a retrofit before the sale is worthwhile depends on the individual case; either way we assess the machine in its current condition.

Do you handle disassembly and transport of such a large machine?

Yes, we organise disassembly and removal. The machines are heavy: the XPERTA weighs 15,200 to 22,000 kg depending on size (manufacturer data), and lifting and transport planning are part of the job. Payment is made before pickup. For single machines it usually takes 7–15 working days from first contact to pickup; for particularly large machines planning can take longer.
